When I create from my heart, nearly everything works, and that’s what I try to do — to enjoy the process and all the time it takes to realize my idea.
After finishing my studies in Arts and Crafts in Oslo, Norway, I moved and set up the first and then only contemporary Ceramic Art studio and gallery on the island of Zakynthos in the early nineties.
My arts and crafts have been exhibited in Norway, Spain, and Greece. I have decorated private residences, hotels, and restaurants all around the island and throughout Europe with wall designs and sculptures. I have supplied restaurants with exclusive high-fired stoneware tableware and created mirror frames, murals, sculptures, and fountains.

You may visit me in Vasilikos, in the beautiful southeast part of the island, where I continuously work, offering wonderful, original artworks full of energy and joy. The forms and colors of my work are inspired by the simplicity of my northern homeland, Norway, and enriched with the vibrant Mediterranean temperament, drawing vivid colors from the sea and shore.
I do not use Cadmium or Lead in any of my glazes, and all of my products are food-safe, tested by EBETAM.
I use only traditional techniques, working with a SHIMPO potter’s wheel and a high-quality gas kiln produced by the renowned Greek company Bonis Ceramic Kilns.
My Experiences and Collaborations
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with many talented potters and artists, including John Dunn (UK), Simon Shaw (UK), Russell Gibbs (UK), Peter Knuckey (Australia), Susanna Bäckström (Sweden), and Aria Galstyan. Through these collaborations, I have refined my technical skills and developed my unique style.
From 1988 to 1989, I attended sculpting lessons at the privately operated Oslo Sketching and Painting School in Norway. In the same year, I improved my sketching skills under the guidance of the artist Wolf Wolfsmoon in Oslo.
From 1986 to 1987, I studied at the National University of Arts and Crafts in Blaker, Norway, under the supervision of Per-Bjarne Moen.
From 1983 to 1986, I completed my Teacher Training for Preschool Education, specializing in Art and Craft, at the National Teacher Training University in Eik, Vestfold, Norway.
In the summer of 2019, I participated in a group exhibition organized by UNESCO-Zakynthos.
Since 1995, I have been a teacher for the Austrian Summer Academy (SOAK). Several assistants and students from all over the world have passed through my studio. Within a short period, they started creating ceramic works and even opened their own studios. Today, there are two studios in Zakynthos, one in the USA, and one in my homeland, Norway, founded by former students of mine.
I am a member of PEKA, the Panhellenic Union of Ceramists and Potters (ΠΕΚΑ Πανελλήνια Ένωση Κεραμιστών και Αγγειοπλαστών).
